Metabolism Boosters – Food That Helps
By John Reed on Feb 13, 2010 with Comments 0
Metabolism is one of the core components of any weight loss program that you follow. And the most efficient way to boost your metabolism is to eat the most important meal of the day. Unfortunately, it’s also one that most people generally tend to go without.
BREAKFAST!
It’s one of the most important meal of the entire day. One that helps us lose weight, best. However, we often skip it in a rush. The fact that breakfast helps us lose weight, most, is backed up by actual research.
In a study by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute 2300 teenage girls were tracked over a ten year period. What they found is that those girls who ate a breakfast high in fiber at least three times a week had an overall lower body mass index then those who did not.
While some people skip breakfast because they’re in a rush, others do so because they think it’ll cut down the total amount of calorie intake over a day. And thus help them lose weight. However, just as it’s important to cut calorie intake to lose weight, it’s equally important to maintain it to an adequate level. Falling short of the required levels can actually have a detrimental effect on your fat loss plan.
A healthy breakfast in the morning ensures that your day starts off just right. Metabolism boosting foods mean you won’t have the urges to snack consistently on junk and unhealthy food throughout the day, because a balanced breakfast provides you with sustained energy throughout the morning. High fiber cereals, oatmeal, fruits, etc all provide your body the needed energy levels to keep up it’s metabolic fat burning state.
Remember to always plan ahead. When you research your food choices, you come across variety. You begin to look at food in a different way, and that affects your well being and your health. And research, does not only give you a wide variety for breakfast, but also throughout the day. Every meal you eat, you’ll have more to choose from. This helps you adjust to new eating habits better, and quicker. And it helps you stick to that plan for longer. And that is aboslutely important, if you want to avoid falling back to the old unhealthy habit, which most people have the urge to in the beginning of any weight loss diet plan.
